Brief Introduction
|
This station was built by the Department of Transportation during the Japanese occupation era. With the hopes to improve the “Taipei-Hsinchu” railway services and build the “dual-track railway lines, ” “Jhubei Station” was then relocated for a distance of about 4 km to the south to the station’s current location. This station relocation was completed in 1930. The station started operations on November 1 in the same year for passenger and cargo transportation services. As the station was only at a distance of 150 meters from the “Bogong Temple,” the station was then renamed ‘Bogonggang Station” (Note 1.) After the Restoration of Taiwan on March 1 1955, Taiwan Railway Administration approved the change of the station name into “Fugang Station.”

What you should know
|
There are three major sightseeing branch lines (Neiwan Line, Jiji Line, and Pingsi Line) for Taiwan Railway. The construction of the Neiwan Line is required to trace back to the East Railway development and construction project at the end of Japanese occupation era. However, the Hsinchu-Chutung section was actually completed in October 1947. The Chutung Station is the largest second-class station of Neiwan Line (including Jiouzantou, Neiwan, Jhujhong, Shangyuan, Ronghua, Hengshan, Hesing, Fu Guei, etc.) Nine stations are set up nowadays. Only staff members are stationed in Jhujhong, Jiouzantou, and Neiwan, whereas no staff members are stationed in the other stations. The Neiwan Line is also called “Cherry Blossom Branch.”

>> Educational Plantation of Zi Cheng Farm
Zi Cheng Farm is located in Sanhu Village of Yangmei Town, and is the vegetable seedling nursery of this town. By combining growing and parent-child educational functions, there are automatic seeding machines inside the farm. In addition to the growing of vegetable seedlings all the year round, there are audiovisual classrooms for the educational purposes of groups. People can also visit automatic seedling nurseries and also purchase vegetable seedlings, to grow insecticide-free vegetables, potted plants, and act as educational materials for parent-child education!

>> Jamesbo Villa
Jamesbo is located Bogonggang of Yangmei in Taoyuan County and was completely built in summer 1997. Its green pastures occupy an area of 3000 pings. With the cry of bugs and frogs, birds sing and flowers radiate their fragrance in the garden, thereby creating natural sounds of music.

>> Feng Shih Organic Farm
The organic vegetables grown by the Feng Shih Organic Farm are accredited by the TOPA (Taiwan’s Organic Production Association) to be free from insecticides and entirely grown by organic growing procedures. In addition to seasonal vegetables and fruits, health promoting food and herbs such as chicory, Gynura formosana kitamwa, Kikuyu grass, wheat grass, etc., are also grown.

>> Yao Hui Leisure Pasture
The pasture occupies an area of 3.35 hectares and keeps dairy cattle. Inside the pasture, the freshest, pure milk can be supplied. In addition, milk-made steamed bread, machi, yogurt, etc. are offered for sale. Their taste is pure and meets the healthy needs of people nowadays. Moreover, there is a large stretch of pastures and children’s activity area for parent-child interaction and games. The owner of the pasture also keeps a great variety of birds, poultry, ostriches, etc., for people to see.

>> Trains
It is the most convenient to take a train at this station. As this station does not pass through the cross-island highway, there are only a few Hsinchu buses passing through this station. For those who plan to drive there, the best way is to reach this station via Yangmei Train Station or Hukou Train Station. As this station is in the midway of these two stations, you can reach there by driving along the railway.

Take only the Hsinchu Bus in the direction of Hukuo.
