Liou-Ying Station was established on June 1, 1960 as a simple station for bus transportation. It was originally under the administration of Sin-Ying Station. The name Liou-Ying can be traced back to the Zheng Regime of Ming Dynasty. A township was established here at that time, with the original name Cha-Mu-Ying. It was renamed Liou-Ying in 1920. The Station was originally a wood structure. A rebuild and renovation project kicked start because the Station was worn out. The project was completed on March 20, 1983.
Liou-Ying Station is located at No. 1, Jian-Guo Road, Liou-Ying Township of Tainan County. The tourist spots nearby are Ba-Lao-Ye Dairy Farm (on Taiwan Sugar’s mini-train route to Capital Farm), Jian-Shan-Bi Reservoir and Tai-Kang Green Tunnel. The Station currently accommodates local train expresses and commuting trams. A vast majority of passengers are commuting students. In July 2004, Chi Mei Medical Center’s Liou Ying Campus became operational, which has boosted the development of Liou-Ying Township.
