Brief Introduction
|
Luodong Station was set up for business operation on March 24, 1919 after the railway line construction between Yilan and Su-ao completed in March, 1919. It was all timber-constructed. In order to enhance the station environment and be convenient for passengers’ entering/ exiting the station, the modification construction had been undertaken in 1949 and completed in April, 1950, with a built-up area of 464 sq. meters. Since the number of passengers increased year by year, the further modification construction had been undertaken in October, 1985, and the station became a building of steel bars and concrete with a built-up area of 3818 sq. meters. Luodong Station is an archaic and majestic building such as an ancient Chinese palace. Through local economic development, the commercial activities in front of Luodong Station are going to reach the market capacity. In order to fully balance the local economic development and implement diversity management, the further modification construction had been undertaken once again on November 5, 1999, and additional station building has been established. The total built-up area is 8668 sq. meters. The business operation of couches was move to the 2nd floor of the additional station building on August 8, 2003. Luodong Station will offer the best services to the passengers with the latest facilities and keep improve the service quality.
