Rueisuei Station is 63.315 kilometers away from Hualien Station. It is located on an administrative district which belongs to Rueisuei Village, Rueisuei Township, Hualien County. It is in the center of Hua-Tong East Rift Valley where the central mountains are in its west, Coastal Mountain is in its east, and Wuhe Tableland is in its south. Siou Gu Luan River comes from the south and, Malangou River and Hongye River are merged into it in the east of this area. Then Siou Gu Luan River goes to east across Coastal Mountain into the Pacific Ocean. These rivers provide the factors including the water and minerals which make the soils here are rich and productive. The most well-known agricultural products here are the snaddocks (Citrus Grundis Osbeck) and tea. Besides, Hongye Hot Springs, the Siou Gu Luan River Sailing, and Wuhe Tourist Tea Garden are also the tourist spots where we encourage you to visit them.
Right after the Taitung Line between Hualien and Yu-li (the Eastern Line or the Hua-Tong Line now) was completed in June, 1914, Rueisuei Station started to operate. This place was named Rueisuei (Japanese pronunciation is Mizuho) by Japanese. The pronunciation of Mizuho (Rueisuei) sounds like Mizuo (Shueiwei) which is the local name of this place. Since Mizuho (Rueisuei) means beautiful origin place of rice, Rueisuei was called instead of Shueiwei.

The Taitung Line between Hualien and Taitung started to operate in March, 1926. Since the highway network system was not completed, railways were the main transportation during this period. Rueisuei Station was one of the critical locations in the railway network system; therefore, the business operation of passenger services was growing. It was a timber construction and destroyed by a typhoon in 1948. It was the time right after World War II, and every industry needed capitals to reestablish it. During this time period, the modification had been undertaken, and the station with a rooftop of aluminum and concrete surface was rebuilt. It was quite a beautiful station like the one we can see in the movie; however, the station yard was outdated and the confined space was insufficient inside the station.

Since the station yard was outdated, the modification had been undertaken in 1970 in order to correspond with the growth of both goods freighting and passenger services. Rueisuei Station was rebuilt of steel bars and concrete and started to operate until now.
