Brief Introduction
|
Sijhih elevated railway construction project is one of the major construction projects of Nangang Project. In this project, double-track railway on the ground will be elevated (including Wudu elevated station and Sijhih elevated station.) After the construction project has been completed, it can clear off six level crossings in Sijhih, thereby effectively improving city traffic, beautifying city appearance, lowering the disconnection caused by railways to the area, and avoiding the traffic disconnection to the railways caused by flooding. This way, this can greatly improve the traffic of Sijhih, promote the renovation of the city, and enhance land utilization. This project starts from the Wudu Tunnel in the north to the North Second Highway in the south, thereby making a total distance of approximately 5 km.

What you should know

Sijhih is previously called Shui Fang Chiao. In the past, Sijhih Station is the station that is most likely to flood. To solve the flooding problem, the government set up Nangang project, in which 15 level crossings were cancelled, and the city development and traffic disconnections on the two sides of the old railway were removed, so as to solve the traffic jam problem, promote the overall development of Songshan, Nangang, and Sijhih, improve city appearance, and boost people’s quality of life. Sijhih elevated railway plan is planned to be completed in the beginning of 2006.
