Brief Introduction
|
|
After the Restoration of Taiwan, the Fourth Train Service Section of the Train Service Department in the Taiwan Railway Administration Commission was set up on June 1 1947 and was changed to Taichung Transportation Service Section of the Transportation Department of Taiwan Railway Administration in 1948, with jurisdiction over Zaociao Station from the north, to the 13th station of Taichung Line: Chenggong Station in the south. Each section is staffed with a section chief, a deputy section chief, and four sections, namely, transportation service, business, general administration, and train schedule. On February 16 1982, the Dajia-Ershuei line and stations of the Jiji Line originally under the jurisdiction of Changhua Transportation Service Section, as well as the Ciding-Rihnan Line originally under the jurisdiction of Hsinchu Transportation Service Section were incorporated into the Taichung Transportation Service Section, having jurisdiction being extended to Ciding Station in the north and Ershuei Station in the south (including the Jiji Line), including Gai Shan Station and Sealine Station.

>>Area under Jurisdiction
The area under the jurisdiction of this section starts from the Ciding Station in the north to the Ershuei Station in the south (including the Jiji Line.) The routes under jurisdiction start for 117.8 km from the foundation in the north to 252.6 km from the foundation, making a total train operation distance of 248.1 km (including the North-South Route, Taichung Line, 21km for Chenggong-Jhueifen Line, 7.1 km for Taichung Port Line, and 29.7 km for the Jiji Line,) stations along the route (including taxi stands), making a total of 46 stations. Then it follows the Shanhai Line to cross 5 provinces and cities, in which the Jhunan to Changhua Station and the Sealine Area are located in the heart of the Western Routeof the Taiwan Railway. In addition, the mountain route passes through Miaoli, Fongyuan, and Taichung City.
